Over all these years spent on stage, I've had the good fortune to meet many celebrities.
Some with whom I've collaborated by supporting their opening acts, others met on television sets, and still others who simply invited me to participate in their own projects.
I am sometimes asked if I was impressed when I met them.
Not really.
To be honest, the people who have impressed me most in my life have not necessarily been celebrities, but complete unknowns who excelled in their field with passion, talent, and humility.
Nevertheless, I have always been struck by the simplicity of some immense American celebrities. Despite their worldwide fame, they behaved with a humility and simplicity that commanded respect.
